  1. Last one from me: Original model for FS9 by Vlad Zhyhulskiy and updated for FSX. Find it on FlyAwaySimulation. Hilarious to fly - the V22 lifts off like a helicopter, transition is fairly straightforward and you can fly and land as a fixed wing. Hovering and landing as a helicopter is another thing!! Cheers - Dai.
  2. Hey! Micke - I'm at the counter! What do you want to drink? And a burger? Well, maybe not, eh? Take some shots? Oh, Wow! On your iPad - great. You were lucky with the weather. Be a while before I'm ready to leave, they're loading her right now, over at the old WWII sheds... Cheers - Dai.
  3. That's a very good point, Anders. Some FSX helicopter models are almost unfliable, not because the flight dynamics are too complex, but because low framerates (i.e. < 10 fps) introduce a time-lag into the feedback loop. Be interesting what the other reviewers think... Cheers - Dai.
  4. Graeme, I use Xdisplay from Splashtop: http://www.splashtop.com/press_release/splashtop-xdisplay-ipad-extends-windows-7-desktop Basically, it turns your iPad into a 2nd screen (in W7) so you can move a New View (Undocked) or, say, Plan-G (real-time map) to it during FSX flights. Works quite well - it's payware but very inexpensive. Cheers - Dai.
  5. An 'Outstanding' Review for an outstanding aircraft - nice one, Bro'! Cheers - Dai. P.S. I just might migrate from rotors for this one!
  6. Ouch - that is good, Chris! When you've time, could you tell us the secret of making this time-lapse effect - it's excellent, Mate! Cheers - Dai. P.S. If you'd prefer to keep it under wraps I'll understand, no worries.
  7. Kevin, I was under the impression that SLI didn't improve framerates on FSX - am I wrong? Maybe P-3D will overcome this? Cheers - Dai.
  8. @ Brian - started to download and install over OrbX PNW and Pacific Fjords but got into a tangle with the large number of possible alternatives. I'm afraid I gave up on this review - it was just too much of an up-hill struggle. I'm sure Joe and Andrew would be happy for you to take it on, though. Cheers - Dai.
  9. You are most welcome, Chris! Cheers - Dai.

    DCS

Wayne, I installed DCS World a couple of years ago because of their Huey (payware), which is excellent both in terms of model detail and animations as well as flight dynamics. However, I soon realised that DCS World is not strictly a flight sim sandbox. The missions are largely military as are the multi-player sessions. DCS's other fixed wing models - mostly military - are good, some free, too. It's worth installing, but whether you'll get 'hooked' is debatable. Just my six-penn'rth... Cheers-Dai.
  11. Here's a new 20 mission pack for FSX Steam Edition - Cargo Crew. Developed by Jane Whittaker of PC Pilot, it features the venerable DC-3: http://store.steampowered.com/app/343959/ FSX and P-3D versions coming soon... Cheers - Dai'
  12. Terrific, Mike - where next? Cheers - Dai.
  13. Nice work, Loic - thanks for letting us see Misty's Place. . @ Chris - I started to look into Misty Moorings a couple of years back and I had a similar problem - where to start?!? Still need to do that... Cheers - Dai.
  14. Happy Birthday, Brett! And, to celebrate, I flew your Pinnacle Mission - Great Stuff! Here we are delivering our final package: When, suddenly, we have an emergency call-out: To a highway accident in the hills: Get the injured to hospital - Pronto! And return to base (I won't mention the rogue bear!): And a successful end to an exciting mission: Thanks, Brett - great to try that one again. By the way, it's in our Hangar Library, here: http://forum.mutleyshangar.com/index.php/files/file/907-the-pinnacle/ Cheers - Dai.
  15. @ Mike - I see you changed your shoes after painting?!? @ Al' - no thermals around then... Great shots/comments - Thanks both! Cheers - Dai.
  16. Great shots, Dolf - as usual! That first one is terrific - love the dirt effects. Glad you're enjoying the ND EC-130. I get into her, now and again, just to tune up my reactions! Cheers - Dai.
  17. Here's an interesting thread, which include discussion of model and full size tilt-rotor quad designs: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2166752%23post28579162 Personally, I think the main problem is assuming VTOL capability includes manouevre in the hover. For sure, straight up and down - making the aircraft a very short STOL, which is what the military would like, but not in the hover. Control on single axis rotorcraft is difficult - twins more so. How those chinook pilots 'back in' to LZ's is amazing. 4 rotors? Can't see it unless it's FBW and the stresses on the engine moun
  18. She-yit, Sam - a great comeback, Mate! Thanks for sharing. BTW, is the video Private? Won't show on my Chrome set-up. Cheers - Dai.
  19. Have a look here, Matt! http://www.mutleyshangar.com/reviews/dai/esnws/esnws.htm Cheers - Dai.
  20. Here's my favourite 'add-on' in an 'add-on', the Sikorsky S-61 by David Hardcastle in Air Greenland livery by Lars Larsen of FlightSim.gl: The scenery, Narsarsuaq-X, is also from Flight Sim Greenland. Cheers - Dai.
  21. Good catch, James - amazing quality! Cheers - Dai.
  22. Nice paint job, J.G. Did the RAF have any input from B.A. I wonder... Cheers - Dai.
