  1. Good catch, Al' - and some interesting comments including "... no b52s there, a liberator though and yes a sabre ..."! Cheers - Dai.

Thanks, Michael! That's a terrific selection. Those rocks sure look pink, don't they? The Earth Simulations' photo-scenery is darker and less pink. 2 possibilities: either the photo's were taken at a different time of year, thus ground colour due to plants like heathers or rock lichen might affect the hue, or E.S. have toned down the colours when matching adjacent photo strips. Whatever, your results are truly excellent. If only we could get the E.S. mesh, eh?!? Cheers - Dai.
  3. For Heaven's sakes, Mike - go and wash that bl**dy paint brush before it dries out!! Cheers - Dai. P.S. Duplicate Post deleted, Mike.
  4. Mike, do you have any screenshots of the Isle of Skye, please? It'd be good to compre with Earth Sim's last product, North West Scotland. Thanks. So far your work is most impressive - kudos! Cheers - Dai. P.S. When will you be uploading the scenery?!? : clapping:
  5. I saw this quadcopter with iPad controller via video link recently: http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/ipad-tablets-and-ereaders/tablets/tablet-accessories/parrot-ar-drone-2-0-elite-edition-sand-21852509-pdt.html?gclid=CIGi48LIrMUCFYTnwgodlx4AHA&srcid=198&cmpid=ppc~gg~~~Exact&mctag=gg_goog_7904&s_kwcid=AL!3391!3!52032977539!!!g!66568334325!&ef_id=VELPdQAAAbl6swL@:20150506071332:s A snip at GBP 250! Cheers - Dai.
  6. I guess you guys have seen this film? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xzkVP8oJV4&feature=youtube_gdata_player Not Kiefer Sutherland's best, but interesting for the thrust only directional control point of view. Cheers - dai.
  7. as straightforward as the DC-3? Be interested to know as I'm halfway over the Hump at the moment! Cheers - Dai.
  8. Nice shots of a really decent model, Al' - Thanks for posting. BTW, where did it come from? Cheers - Dai.
  9. Before we get too deeply involved in this discussion about value for money, can I say that this sort of discussion isn't truly objective. It serves to confirm our individual views about the various product lines we have experience with and what we have learned to expect from such devs. As you know, I'm a rotor-head and I find it difficult to find models that combine looks with relistic flight dynamics. The Dodo-Sim hits the mark - and is (or was when I bought it) $50! The Milviz 407 is good and well priced at the $20 I paid in a sale, recently. Many other models look fantastic but fly either
  10. Hope you like this nostalgic shot of the Aeroplane Heaven Provisioning Lanc (freeware - cover disk from PC Pilot). Cheers - Dai. :old-git;
  11. More bugs creeping out of the woodwork, eh, Eddie? Good catch. Cheers - Dai.
  12. This is a sad event and even if the insurance pays out, the National Trust will lose out on revenues from the house and garden whilst refurbishment is carried out. It's an up-side down world, eh?!? Cheers - Dai.
  13. Excellent catch, Nigel. Pam and I enjoyed the repartee a lot. Loved the comment about City: "... Only used by w*nk*rs..." or was that 'bankers'? BTW, I think the guy meant international airports? Even L.A. Doesn't have 6 - although both Southend (did you hear the Ian Dury mini-trubute?) and Biggin Hill aren't really Intl's in the accepted sense, I guess. Cheers - Dai.
  14. Another extremely good presentation of your photo scenery, Mike - thanks for sharing - and for the memories! Cheers - Dai.
  15. Only 1 bounce - not bad, Joe!?! Nice vid - thanks for posting. Cheers - Dai.
  16. Great mini-review, Matt - thanks for posting! BTW, get those pedals, eh? Cheers - Dai.
  17. That's funny - my iPad 'pops out' every so often, maybe because the Flash part is too complicated (IOS V5.1?) But when you link this to our discussion on hacking, things start to look just a little edgy (if that's the right 'street' word?) Cheers - Dai.
  18. Mike - I've always wanted to try RC helicopters, but never had the time. It'll be interesting to see how you get on! Cheers - Dai.
  19. Welcome to the Mad-House, Mike. Hope you enjoy the helicopter Missions! That's another turn of the screw. Cheers - Dai. :old-git
  20. Hi Vince and Welcome to the Hangar. Maybe you know if these effects work with helicopters in the wet? Cheers - Dai.
  21. Don't you have to press the Space Bar first, to get Mouse Panning? Just a thought... Cheers - Dai.
  22. Hi Graeme and Welcome to the Hangar! I've a nasty suspicion that your watery map/GPS view is a common problem with Gen-X scenery. It was there in 2007 when Gen-X was originally issued and, as far as I know, still is now. Unlike Gen-X, however, the late Earth Simulations version of North West Scotland doesn't suffer the same problem. Unfortunately, Darren and Vikki no longer produce their fabulous scenery. Mind you, as an old git (Never! - Ed) I am prone to be wrong, as I'm sure I will be told by the experts! Good to meet you! Cheers - Dai.
  23. Shee-yit! I recognised Tal-y-Llyn and Cadair, but was in the dark about the town until it clicked... You b*gg*r, Nige', Llanidloes is a lovely place - I can't confirm whether the Red Lion's fauna are still going, but the town is probably the friendliest place in mid Wales. Well done, James, for spotting Llani' - let me know if you're up this way again. Come to think of it, that applies to you all - even you, monsieur Porter! By golly, you've got to be on your toes in this forum, eh? Cheers - Dai. P.S. Great photo-scenery by the way, mate!
