John - where civilian regs can be seen, a look at GINFO (http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=60&pagetype=65&appid=1) will tell you, at least whether they are still active, destroyed or de-registered Superb shots there Nigel! -
Apologies, I haven't been around a lot. Clue time me thinks It was a private aircraft, but was impressed in 1940 and used for training only one type of aircraft then in RAF service

It's quite easy to find out RAF / Navy stuff, especially early stuff, if you know where to look I'll have a dig around tonight / tomorrow morning for something that hopefully will be taxing!

Parnall Peto - N181. It crashed at Gibraltar, rebuilt as N255 and then lost from submarine M2 when the hangar flooded. This ended the aircraft carrier submarine for the UK, but the Japanese still had planes for them

Canadian Lancaster grounded by engine fire!

Interesting info there Nigel - during the war a lot of Packard Merlin Lancs got Rollers ones, and the reverse. Prehaps this was because all of them were replaced at the same time. And yes - my grandfather worked on Merlin-engined tanks in Germany post-war, so the difference was known here! -
UK ones are the same as Canadian ones - just checked my charts for Heathrow, Edinburgh and East Midlands
